For years Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) has been used as a general intestinal tonic to improve digestion, relieve gas and bloating, help with occasional heartburn and support balanced pH levels.* Although a weak acid, ACV promotes alkalinity in the body. More recently, its uses have expanded into the areas of blood sugar and weight management.* However, even this use is not new, as ACV was recommended as an aid for healthy weight as early as the 1820s.
It is produced by allowing either crushed apples (or simply apple juice) to ferment. This two-part process uses yeast to convert the fruit sugars into alcohol, then specialized bacteria is added to turn the alcohol into acetic acid - a key ingredient in ACV that is also responsible for giving it the sour taste. Among its qualities, acetic acid plays an important role in the digestive process, helping to stimulate the production of hydrochloric acid and the enzymes needed to break down fats.* It also creates an environment that is hostile to germs.*
Our Raw-Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar provides not only acetic acid, but also all of the Mother components inherent to a high-quality ACV.
